Flight of The Concords

January 3rd, 2010 by catalina

Since back in the day where it was just videos on You Tube of Bret and Jemaine performing on stage, my husband and I have been HUGE fans of Flight of the Concords.

Got both Season 1 and Season 2 DVDs and love watching these over and over. So, a few days ago I was exploring Time Out New York’s website when I came across a tres cool section called Great Walks, and there it was, smack in front of my face the Flight of the Concords Walk. I grabbed my camera and off I went.

My husband and I always wondered where exactly the show was taped, and thought most of it took place in Brooklyn. It seems that some of it takes place in Chinatown, and the other bit in Brooklyn.

What I REALLY wanted to see, more than anything, was the stoop where the show intro (00:05) takes place with Bret and Jemaine. I’m such a geek. I was SO excited when I came across it, in the freaking cold, windy, 20-something New York City weather, that not much else mattered right then and there.

The other place that I REALLY wanted to visit was Roger TV, where Dave, Bret and Jemaine’s friend works. I struck up a conversation with Roger, and I have to say it’s a small world after all. Turns out Roger is from Ecuador, from a town not too far from where my husband Juan Miguel grew up. SMALL FREAKING WORLD!

I am excited to go back and take some portraits of Roger and post here at a later date. Stay tuned for that!

If I ever get a chance to see FOTC live, you better believe I will be there. They are great!
